If everyone knew how to do this, the credit bureaus would have to completely change their scoring system, that's why they don't want you to know. I am also convinced (although this might sound like a conspiracy), that you will not find any books in your bookstore with this information either. Why? Let's just say that corporate America sticks together. In fact, if you do your own research you will find that the credit industry has the largest number of lobbyists on Capitol Hill. These are the people that keep the government from putting a cap on credit card interest rates and recently had all of the bankruptcy laws changed to prevent people from being able to avoid their credit card obligations. What is unfair, and should be illegal, is the fact that the credit bureaus do not have to disclose the formula being used to calculate credit scores. That's right, you may be getting an "F" on your credit report card, and you don't get to see your test paper after it has been graded. This really violates everything that the Fair Credit Reporting Act was intended to do. That is, create transparency and fairness in America's credit community. I don't like the ambiguity of the word fair, so let me make clear my position and why I hate the current credit scoring system. Americans Should Have The Right To Know How Their Credit Score is Calculated. Being graded a bad credit risk and then not being given the specifics as to why, is unfair and completely unreasonable. Other than very vague "Reason Codes" you may see on your credit file, you will have nothing to go on other than your best guess. Now, some readers may simply think my position is without merit since we all know what makes up good credit right? Wrong! Imagine the surprise of one of my mortgage clients when he paid off $10,000 in derogatory items on his credit report and learned that this action caused his credit score to drop 100 points. Yes, you may be penalized for paying off or settling the wrong debts. What about the man that received an offer of a low interest rate credit card. Once he received the card, he transferred the balances from his high rate cards to the new card (I wonder where he got that idea? Probably from one of my early books). Subsequently, he closed the old accounts which he no longer needed. Smart financial move, right? It cost him more than 50 points on his credit score. Consider the couple that keeps open only one credit card account and pays cash for all major purchases. They find out that they don't have a credit score. Without a credit score, they are as bad off as someone without a Social Security number. I have cracked the credit scoring code and will share with you how anyone can raise their credit score quickly. I have prepared a special report that will provide you with the following information:
